Death of Rohith Vemula has shocked this (India) country. NDTV hindi provided coverage of it more than 1 week in prime time. Many other renowned channels also provided a good amount of coverage to his death. It is this coverage only that Our Prime Minister also felt socked about his death though after 5 days but he felt.
Many Dalit scholars teachers news editor and many others written article in news paper including The Hindu and Indian express. Problem is huge and solutions were also provided in those articles. Many criticized government and many criticized who criticized government but both took side of him.
Dalit (SC/ST/OBC) students are provided reservation in job and in higher education which has all flaw behind discrimination against Dalit students like Rohith Vemula. They are not provided well education and social support from childhood. When they reach higher education institutions they have to face a lot discrimination against them. And I am promising that this is not going to stop unless support for them starts from childhood. And if reservation was solution why not after more than 5 decades of reservation we still need reservation . Once they also have caliber and good knowledge of subject then only they will get rid of this discrimination.
Reservation in jobs and education institutions is just a tool in hand of government to get away from it's duty and appease them. All this opportunities rarely reached to needy one in Dalit students (SC/ST). Either non dalit rich gets fake certificate or dalit rich gets admission in these institutions. Real requirement is to provide Social and financial support to poor dalit students from beginning itself not after they have lost a lot.
But while talking about discrimination against dalits we often forget students who are poor and non dalit. Their situation is worst than dalit as well. They never a good social status in society neither they have money and nor they have reservation in any place. They are discriminated from all sides. And there is no provision for them from government as well.
Political parties only takes care about short term solution they have now became very populist and more and more cunning. Rather than looking for root cause all government and parties try to suppress it in name of reservation,religion,caste. All parties who are now crying Dalit Dalit in name of Rohith Vemula have done more damage to dalit's by betraying them each and every time.

What solution lies.
- Reservation should be based on combination of both caste and economic situation.
- Support to students should be provide from primary education itself not only in higher education.
- Financial support from Government to poor students (Including all ) so that they also can join private schools and coaching and fight equally with rich ones and feel pride.
- Just like there is provision of 25 % reservation for weaker section of students in private schools same should be applied to private coaching institutions as well.
- Caste certificates monitoring should be done. Cross verification for students whose parents doesn't have caste certificate.
